What's happening in LATAM
On July 1st, it will be 11 years since I started working with Salesforce for the first time. I started out as an administrator quite unknowingly, a prime example of #AccidentalAdmin. It wasn’t long before I was working as a consultant with nonprofits all across LATAM from my home base in Argentina. I learned everything thanks to Google searches and by reading, reading and reading. Outside of my team, I didn’t know anyone who worked with Salesforce, and I couldn’t always count on the support of my directors for training and certification.
It wasn’t until I moved to Canada that I started to understand I could build my career around Salesforce, and that I started to grasp the full worth of my knowledge and abilities. What had changed? The answer is easy: I was able to connect with inspiring women, role models, and a great community. Being physically closer to all things Salesforce, I could really start to develop my full potential.
Since then, my objective has been to bring the Salesforce community to LATAM. No one should have to wait six years, or travel 5500 miles, to stop feeling like an #AccidentalAdmin.
Because I am a true believer in community as an empowering force, the first step was to bring together all of the women working with Salesforce in nonprofits across LATAM.
Here are some of the initiatives currently happening in the region:
The Power of Us is already speaking our language
The “En Español” group within the HUB was created. We could ask questions, share knowledge and get to know each other, all in Spanish.
Study group
At the beginning of this year, we put together a study group for people looking to get certified as Admins. Four brave warriors enrolled, and not only did they learn a great deal, they also formed a tight-knit group that is still sharing ideas and initiatives. For some, it was even the first spark that would ignite their career as professionals.
We are looking to put together a number of new study groups in order to have more certified users in the region.
Mentoring Circle
Last year I was part of a mentoring circle initiated by Angela Adams and Megan Himan. It was truly a turning point in my career, and I will forever be grateful to the amazing ladies who took part.
This year, I wanted to bring that very experience to LATAM. I shared the idea with some of the women I had worked with before, and all of them eagerly supported it. Some of them are freelancers working from, others are the only admins within their respective organizations, and all of them sometimes feel lonely in their day to day work. The circle became a safe space where we could share our doubts, give each other advice and get inspired to become the best version of ourselves.
From this group of incredible women, the following two ideas emerged so far:
Trailhead in June
We committed to each acquiring 50 new badges in Trailhead during the month of June! An ambitious goal to be sure, but we believe we can make it!
With this challenge, we are pushing ourselves to keep learning as we help each other out and share the great things we discover, the questions that come up and all the challenges that arise as we try to work out the space we need to study and develop our skills.
Special virtual events
Because it is impossible for most of the women I am connected with to attend Dreamforce or any other of the countless Salesforce or tech events organized in the northern hemisphere, our idea is to put together virtual meetings where inspiring women can told us their story.

Qué está pasando en Latinoamérica
El primero de Julio se cumplen 11 años desde que conocí Salesforce por primera vez. Empecé como administradora, sin quererlo. Un ejemplo clásico de #AccidentalAdmin.
Al poco tiempo ya era consultora, trabajando con organizaciones sin fines de lucro de todo LATAM desde Argentina. Aprendí buscando en Google y leyendo mucho. No conocía a nadie que trabajara con Salesforce fuera de mi equipo, y no siempre teníamos el apoyo de los directores para capacitarnos o certificarnos.
No fue hasta que me mudé a Canadá que empecé a entender que podía fundar mi carrera profesional en Salesforce y que empecé a confiar en mis conocimientos y capacidades. ¿Qué cambió? La respuesta es simple: encontré mujeres que me inspiran, modelos a seguir, y una gran comunidad. Habiendo superado las barreras que son la distancia y el idioma, pude empezar a realmente desarrollar mi potencial.
Mi objetivo desde entonces es llevar a la comunidad de Salesforce a LATAM. Nadie debería tener que esperar 6 años o viajar 9000 kilómetros para sacarse el título de administrador por accidente. Porque estoy convencida de que es en comunidad donde nos potenciamos, el primer paso es conectar a todas las mujeres que trabajan con Salesforce en organizaciones sociales latinoamericanas.

En el Power of Us ya se habla nuestro idioma
Se creó el grupo “En Español” dentro del HUB, para poder hacer preguntas en nuestro idioma, compartir conocimientos y empezar a conocernos.
Grupo de estudio
A principio de este año armamos un grupo de estudio para la certificación de Admin. Cuatro valientes se sumaron y no solo aprendieron muchísimo sino que se formó un grupo que sigue acompañándose en diferentes ideas e iniciativas. Para algunos en el grupo este fue el primer paso hacia la consolidación de sus carreras profesionales.
Estamos con ganas de organizar varios grupos más y seguir sumando certificaciones a la región.
Círculo de mentoreo
El año pasado participé en un círculo organizado por Angela Adams y Megan Himan. Marcó sin duda un antes y después en mi carrera, y voy a estar siempre agradecida a las chicas que participaron.
Este año quise llevar esa experiencia a LATAM. Les comenté mi idea a algunas de las mujeres con las que había trabajado y todas se sumaron sin dudarlo. Algunas trabajan como independientes desde sus casas, otras son las únicas admins en sus organizaciones, y todas se sentían un poco solas en el trabajo del día a día. Este círculo se convirtió en un espacio seguro para compartir dudas, darnos consejos e inspirarnos a mejorar cada día.
De este grupo de increíbles mujeres salieron las próximas dos ideas:
Junio en Trailhead
En el mes de Junio nos comprometimos a obtener 50 nuevos badges cada una! Un número ambicioso pero creemos que posible!
Este desafío nos invita a seguir aprendiendo y a apoyarnos entre nosotras, compartiendo lo que nos gustó, las dudas que surgieron y las dificultades que tenemos a la hora de encontrar espacios para estudiar y crecer profesionalmente.
Eventos virtuales especiales
Como ninguna de las mujeres con las que estoy conectada puede ir a Dreamforce o a los miles de eventos de Salesforce o tecnología que hay en el norte, nuestra idea es armar encuentros virtuales con mujeres inspiradoras.
